I guess you've read
many romantic novels that's why you found this book predictable. Congrats on BOTD and thanks for the informative review.

Thank you for the honest review! I find historical fiction so intriguing because of the mix of imaginary and real elements. This sounds like a nice story, and a strong female protagonist is always a plus!

This book is interesting. Just how tragedy leads to love, and discovering history. Becky is bold and quite the protagonist. Review well done.

The storyline of Not the same waters sounds interesting and terrifying at the same. I can't imagine whY it must have been like for the characters to encounter terrible storms, heavy winds, the boat sinking and finally drowning. Violent water is not a friend of anyone.

Historical romance book is not my type, but I picked something from the book according to the review. You can become whatever you want to regardless of what the society believes.

Interesting story. However, would have loved it more if it had more suspense and plot twists. Thanks for your well laid out and detailed review.

What an interesting romance book, I believe Bill will come back to her and she will achieve her dreams as a trauma surgeon. Good review.

Historical fiction is not my go-to book, but i find this one fascinating. I will like to know how she survived her husband’s death, coupled with his missing body if eventually it was found. Great review

I love books that immerse you in the story as you described. I also thoroughly enjoy books that mix reality and fiction, as they end up teaching me better than a straight up nonfiction book ever could. This seems like a wonderful book set in the late 1800s. Great review!

I chose to read the sample offered. Though not a fan of historical romance, I enjoyed the author's clothing descriptions. Thought it might be a little predictable after reading just the sample. Romance follows a pattern, unfortunately.

'Official Review: Not the Same Water' by Karen Black is a complete analysis of the historical romance story of a woman in the 1890's! It is a positively critical one! The comments of the reviewer are sincere and useful for all readers! The review well portrays the strengths and weaknesses of the story! Nice to learn that the book is an entertaining read for history lovers!

I enjoyed your suggestion of reading this book on a Sunday afternoon while decompressing and destressing for the week ahead. A book without surprises can come in handy sometimes, too! Thanks for the captivating recommendation.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical romance set in the late 19th century following a Becky, young woman, and an army lieutenant, Bill, who survive a disaster at see which sparks their relationship. However, when Bill is called to service to combat trouble in South Dakota, Becky decides to become a doctor. The is news that Bill is MIA and possibly dead and the fact that no major hospital will hire a female doctor both force Becky to commit unimaginable acts to reach her goal. It might be worth a second look. Well done.
