World War II a very unique period in our entire lifetime. I have read several books about the Germans' dehumanizing ways they handled people back then but like many stories bonds were formed at unusual meetings amongst people of different races. The beauty of the story is the unlikely bond between Victoria and Etta which is the more reason why this book will be interesting. I know I will like it and the violence can be managed as it won't do much against my desire to read it. Congrats.

Women in history have always had great impact and influence, and this is no exception. I think this book would be helpful to educate us on the events of the past as well as serve as a foundation for the decisions of the future. Thanks for an amazing review.

Victoria's war reminds me of how resilient the human spirit is. Despite facing harrowing and dehumanising conditions, Victoria was looking for ways to help polish women and children in forced labour camps. If that doesn't portray an indomitable spirit, I don't know what will. A truly heartbreaking but inspiring story. Thank you for a wonderful review.

It's so painful how Victoria who was a polish woman after being captured by SS soldiers and purchased by Germany family to work as a slave in the family bakery was mistreated by Herr and Frou Tod.
The picture is so clear how they would locked her in the attic and beat her. The food she would be given was watery soup and she would sleep on the floor.Try to imagine that this kind of treatment was luxurious compared to what other polish women experienced in the camp.

At first I didn't think that this book would pique my interest, but after reading the blurb I was immediately interested. After reading your review that only seals the deal. I'm looking forward to checking this book out. It's definitely going on my to-be-read shelf. I enjoy historical fiction and this book sounds like a must read for me.

What an interesting story, WWII had so many awful events, but we have to learn from them over and over and never forget the atrocities of war. This book is going on my to-read shelf. Thanks for the great review.

Sometimes during big wars and in this big universe real heroes and people who faced so much terror and lived a really difficult life gets ignored. This book is for every Victoria out there who had to face repercussions of the war and yet with so much strength, faith and sheer courage they all manage to get through it but it's very important to acknowledge all the pain and hurt they go through and I'm so grateful for this book for doing that! Please read it it's free on kindle you don't even need to buy it!

It so unfortunate that part of human history has alot of despair and heartbreak. I can only imagine what the Polish women went through as portrayed by Victoria and her bravery. It is sad that presently we still view the disabled as second grade humans. This must be a compelling and heart-wrenching read. Congratulations on the BOTD.

Victoria's War ~ is a Non-Fictional Historical Book which tells of the life of Victoria's War, a Polish woman of bitter sweet moments, twists and turns, ups and downs lows and highs. Inspiring, motivating.

The resilience of this woman inspires and overwhelms. Not only men who go to war should be considered to be heroes of war, but consider people like Victoria, who tells an untold war story of her life. A historical inspirational read.

~ Thanks to the Author

I knew that the Imperial Japanese forced women in conquered countries to work as prostitutes or comfort women as they were called back then. I did not realize, but I should have that the Nazis also engaged in this horrific practice. I knew about the horrors that the Jewish people faced in the camps, but I did not realize how much the Polish people suffered because of their nationality. I am glad that books such as this one sheds a light on history and allows us to make a better future.

This is a heartbreaking and yet interesting story about the plight of Polish women, who were persecuted during the Second World War and the bravery of one woman to ease their suffering. Victoria is a fascinating character and I will like to read more about how the author made her who she is and the heroic role she played, even though she was herself one of the persecuted.
Thank you for your well written review.

War stories are most certainly not my preferred type in reading books. Especially, written in World War II era's setting. All this nazis, ss and Holocaust are horrible and I really don't want to dive in this nightmare. No offence, please, but I will have to pass this book. Still, congrats on BOTD!

Ms. Hamilton's writing skills are exceptional, and the first few chapters are highly moving. This is a heavy book, focusing on one of the most terrible times in all of human history, and I applaud the author for tackling the issue. Congratulations to her on achieving BOTD and I wish her good fortune in finding an appreciative reading audience.
