Thanks for your review. Through two Americans, Herman and Karina, a part of WWII and the conflict between The Allies vs the Axis powers will be recreated in this book.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical fiction set during WWII where the US has outlawed its citizens from assisting any other country and where Britain urgently requests assistance. Two Americans secretly volunteer as pilots for the British forces. Will the US join the war or stay neutral and what role will the two American pilots take in the war? It might be worth a second look. Well done.

This historical fiction about WW2 seems to have intriguing aspects that changed the direction of WW2 and the heroic characters who played their roles brilliantly portrayed in this novel.

I am not much of a war history buff but this book does explain well the sequence of events in an easy-to-understand manner. I was surprised to learn some of the influential American names associated with being German sympathisers. This helped to explain the reason why President Roosevelt wanted US citizens to stay out of the war.

I liked the following quote that reflects the dilemma faced by US:
“If we repeal it, we are helping England and France. If we fail to repeal it, we will be helping Hitler and his allies. Absolute neutrality is an impossibility.”
Senator George W. Norris on the repeal of the
Neutrality Acts, 1939

This book seems to have a very interesting plot. I would like to see what strategy and plans Britain will use to defeat Hitler and his nonsensical schemes. It's true that the books, in which the characters die, somehow, seem more authentic, as they don't have that fairytale ending. Thanks for the great review.

I did not realize the U.S. had so many prominent German sympathizers during the war. This sounds like a comprehensive and informative read. Thank you for your recommendation.

Thank you for your thorough review. I'm not one for history and war stories very much, but I'm sure someone who enjoys that will like this book. It did seem to be well-written.

I had difficulty keeping up with the plethora of characters the author introduced so quickly, who was related to who, and how they were related. It was very confusing, to say the least. I don't really mind the UK bias since it's fiction, but I am not a fan of historical fiction, especially those books that deal with wars. I think I'll sit this one out. Thanks for the excellent review!
