I love historical fiction, and Sir Anthony sounds like an amazing character! From his work as a spy, to speaking multiple languages, and even his abilities to pick locks, there's a lot to discover.

You did a fantastic job with this review! The character talking like Yoda makes me want to read it, just out of curiosity :lol2:

Fire and Earth by David West tells the adventures of Sir Anthony. I'm curious to know what made him question his faith. I would love to explore this historical fiction. Congratulations on BOTD.

I wonder how the author incorporated science with philosophy in the storyline. Thank you for the review.

Nice review by Josephe-Anne I am looking forward to read the book and feel how David West covered crime, corruption, adventure, religion, philosophy all at the same time. I would like to see how sixteenth century corruption was compared to present day corruption. It must a good read

This book tells a story about the connection between Copernicus’ heliocentric theory, saints’ feast days, and a serial killer who targets priests. Congratulations BOTD!

This sounds like an interesting read. I'm not much interested right now, but I do have it downloaded. I'll surely go back to it when I'm looking for something of that type. I tend to not read the same type of thing in a rhythm, but rather as the mood hits. The cover art is amazing. Thank you for your review.

A very thorough review that leaves the reader wanting for more.
Mideval settings, the corruption and political prowess of the Catholic Church and it's domination back in the 16th century are illuminated from the onset of this story. The sampled pages left the sweet savor of Rome, wars, horses and priests with secrets. Add a serial killer and a detective in love and you've sold this story to those of us who love these plots. Looking forward to a complete read. Congratulations to the author and the BOTD.

The themes covered in this story hold intriguing elements, but the theological theme seems to dominate the story.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical novel focusing on an Englishman tasked with investigating a series of murders related to the Church. Will he solve these murders or be destroyed by these mysteries? It might be worth a second look. Well done.

I appreciate the reviewer pointing out that even if you are of a different religion, this book could still be for you. I enjoy reading about corrupt religion/religious officials. I also appreciate them pointing out that there is talk of sexual abuse. This is something very important to know. I am one that judges a book by its cover, and I adore the cover! Thanks for the great review!

I love the way you recommend the book to open-minded people. So many of us try to be that way but religion can flare up strong opinions. Thanks for the thorough review
