This is a book to learn lessons from the characters portrayed. John and Judith had to start working to make ends meet. They didn't allow their background to deter them. Congrats on the book of the day and a nice review.

I loved the book and this is a great review. 4 out of 4 The story has quite a bit of telling but this didn't detract from it being a great read. Thanks to the reviewer for bringing out how we can be inspired by the lessons demonstrated by the life of John Morrissey, the main character. I don't like fighting but I feel John had no other choice and because he is likeable and caring, defending the weak and helping his mother to support his many sisters, he can be admired as a hero. He had his problems and eventually managed to control them, which is another reason to admire him and be inspired. Well earned BOTD.

The author tells the tale of John Morrissey's parents, Tim and Judith Morrissey, two poor Irish immigrants. Congratulations BOTD!

John had a dream and his poor background didn't stop him from achieving that. I agree that John's story is one of hope. It will be a source of inspiration to those who are facing similar challenges.

John seems like such a great person. Her journey of determination and hope can teach readers to never give up on your dream, no matter how many obstacles are in your way. I wonder if he did manage to become a professional fighter and how far he went. Great review!

Poverty can lear one I to making the most unfortunate decisions. John's life of becoming a pro fighter is inspiring, and too bad his inspiration had to come from a disadvantaged point. Great review!

Sounds like a beautiful book. I enjoy books that actually have substance and something you can take away once you’re done reading it, even if it’s a fictional book. I’d like to read the book and see how John went from a low position to a high one through perseverance.

This is an interesting historical biography about an Irish Catholic immigrant named John Morrissey, who was raised in poverty. But he overcame adversity and became a well-known boxer. He went on to become successful in many other careers as well, with the support of his wife. What an inspirational life story! Terrific book review!

The biography appears to be a blend of classic themes like rags-to-riches and love conquers all. It delves into the challenges confronted by nineteenth-century Irish Catholic immigrants, which may appeal to history enthusiasts.

'Official Review: Ambitions' by Frank Baillargeon is thorough and enriching. It serves as a solid background for readers to read the historical fiction tale. The point that the author tells the tale of John Morrissey's parents, Tim and Judith Morrissey, two poor Irish immigrants is worth mentioning in the review. Also, as mentioned in the review, the point that the book describes John's ascent from the streets to the palace due to his dedication to being a successful and professional fighter is remarkable for readers. It was great to learn that the author's inventiveness was impressive!

We all make our choices. John made his and worked hard to achieve his dream. You alone can define your success. It is different for everyone. May we all, like John, achieve the success we choose. And deserve it.

*Ambitions* by Frank Baillargeon can teach the reader that reaching goals takes not just wishes but hard work and persistence. With these one can pursue and reach goals, then strive on for the next goal on your way to the ultimate life goal. The story of the Morrisey son growing up mainly in the streets after quitting school at the age of twelve is inspirational.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

Not quite long ago, I realized that whatever one wants to become or achieve, one must first always see and believe it's possible. if one can always see it, then there's every possibility, it'll materialize. After reading this review, I'm more convinced what I've realized is true. May we all achieve our goals and dreams as John did.
