Your review offers a lot of insight into the characterization of the people in the novels. I like that you spoke about their values and how the characters learn about family unity and hard work.

Death takes not only the life of the diseased but also part of the lives of those who held him/her dear. I can relate to Char. It is difficult to accept the death of someone and even more difficult to move on. Still, I salute the author for emphasizing that the love of God lasts for eternity.

This is historical fiction? Is it fiction in that it is a true story embellished? Or. . . ?

I tried the Amazon sample. But I don't think this book is for me. It sounds like it might be rather sad, and also rather motivational. I don't need to read such fiction. Thank you for the review, though!

And I'm glad you enjoyed the book enough to give it four stars!

I was glad to get some insight into the four characters at the heart of the story. You review makes the book sound quite intriguing and I appreciated that, but this one is not for me. I don't mind stores about people of deep faith, but the narrator is a bit too full-on for me.

Interesting, this book is tagged historical fiction here, though at Amazon I see it is also categorized in non-fiction. It sounds like one of those books where it has both real life and fictional elements. I find those the most inspiring kind of stories, because you know the author has lived it and felt it in order to write about it. This book sounds really beautiful and uplifting because of it!

The book is inspirational and encouraging. It increases the hopes for a person being faced with threat of hopelessness. Looking forward to reading it.

This sounds like a sweet faith-driven book. I like how Charlene leans on her father's story of family for guidance and answers as she tries to deal with loss of her husband. The Great Depression era sounds interesting. It's great to hear that shows strength and depth, and that the book shows love for family, family values, and courage. Also, I love that the book was professionally edited and it was engaging. Thank you for the lovely review, and I'm glad that you enjoyed this book!

I look forward to reading this book as it sounds inspiring. I like immersing myself in others' lives via reading, and the families portrayed in this story, going through struggles, the Great Depression and raising families of their own sounds relatable and enjoyable. Great review!

:text-thankyouyellow: It's amazing how a death can provoke different emotions and affect us differently at the same time. God is stepping in and putting things on our hearts that will make us ask questions that are sometimes difficult to answer as well as write what we're feeling. This book may provide us with insight to our on religious questions. This review came at a time where, this weekend, I just buried a woman that meant as much to me as my mom and sitting there, I had very mixed emotions. Today, this book touched my heart and will be added to my to-read shelf.
To survive, you must tell stories.

So this book sounds so interesting... first words that caught me were historical fiction... and then I became further hooked with the mention of the great depression... a time when my grandma and grandpa were growing up. They were both kids. As a teen and college student I loved to listen to my grandparents stories of their youth during this time period. So I am very excited to read this book!

A must-read. The book on reading the sample is well written and it focuses on how families deal with the most painful experiences in their lifetime.
I wish many people dealing with the demise of their loved ones would come across this book.
Thanks, your review just enforced my desire to read the book.
