This book sounds like it was skillfully crafted. I really enjoy books that can weave true events into the story. I will probably wait to read this one because it is part of a series and I prefer to read in order.

The title is interesting. I didn't realize right away that the words 'noble' and 'mercenary' could be considered contradictory. I felt drawn in right at the beginning, at the prologue, which sets a scene of the mercenaries helping the Allies in WWII, flying planes over Germany defending Allied Bombers. I like Historical Fiction.

I am interested in finding out how the author covers 100 years worth of events. You mentioned romance, is this a prelude to a later book or is it explained in this one.... nevermind I will read it and find out. Your review has me intrigued!

Such an intriguing idea!! I'm in love with these kinds of 'immortality' plots, and how living over such a long period of time and observing cultural shifts and rapidly changing cultures can influence someone. Definitely want to read.

The Noble Mercenary by Patrick John Donahoe reminded me about Twilight. I found the story very interesting. Semi-immortal humans secretly save people. I want to read the book for sure.

Great review - it was very helpful! Thank you!! Today's historical fiction BOTD invites readers to join four friends on their adventurous journey while travelling from the time of the crusades to present day. This second-in-series novel sounds like one readers will love! Thanks again!

The concept of immortality is a favorite theme of mine when reading fantasy literature so that appeals to me. My only hesitation is picking up the story in the second book of the series. But I'm so intrigued by this review that I'm willing to break my own rule and start with book 2!

Sounds like an exciting historical fiction novel! I liked that you included about the author's writing style in interweaving the historical events and cultures. Can't believe that the author was also able to embed a romantic side amid the seriousness of the theme. Thanks for this very detailed review!

Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres. I also love books in a series. Eith that being said I will have to read the first book before I read this one. But the storyline sounds so intriguing, I cant wait to read the whole series. Thanks for the review.

I like the concept, but there seems to be a lot to cover in 47 chapters and I don't know if I like the format of an overall arc told through a series of mini-stories. I suppose I would find it a bit confusing, but I see that this is the second book so I would probably read the first book before considering tackling this one. Regardless, I like the sound of the historical and mystical aspects and find them very intriguing.

Based on the review this is definitely a book that I want to check out. At first, I didn't have much interest because I don't usually like to read about WWII or the historical fiction genre. I think it is interesting that the characters are semi-immortal and that the reader gets to read the changes in cultures/society as time passes. I also enjoy a good adventure story. I want to read the first book of the Fellowship of the Ancient Covenant series before I start this one.
