I could see trouble coming from the first sentence of your review. This book sounds like it could make your blood boil with what women had to go through during this time period, particularly the higher standards women were held to compared to men. This book sounds like some excellent historical fiction. You can’t get much more accurate than scenes based on Baby Doe’s own diary entries. Of course, I’m always up for a book with a female protagonist who is strong for her time. Thank you for the helpful review.
