The story may be focusing on forgiving someone who has done you wrong, but what I'd like to stress as well in the story that I believe that should be heard and possessed by people who claim they are Christians is the part when Amora provided home for abandoned foundlings. Being a Christian doesn't equate to the privilege of telling others they're wrong and claim that you're in the right side. Christians need to read books like this and stop memorizing a list of sins to use against other people they don't like or agree with.

It looks a great exploration of one's conflict in mind. It's always captivating to read about someone's great ordeal. No doubt someone will end up learning a lot from this book.

This book seems like a really nice one to read. Sometimes humans have different reactions to how life treats us. We see Amora and Leo in this book, after losing their kids Amora is faced with a difficult choice as a result of her religious beliefs while Leo is hell bent on revenge. I hope to read this book and really get the full gist of the story. Good review.

I am not surprised when I learned that Standor5865 is a Christian. Since Christianity is one of the book's biggest themes, Christians would also find themselves intrigued by the novels' premise. Congratulations to Grant Hallstrom for BOTD!

I generally avoid historical fiction, but the Christian conversion aspects seem appealing. I am not sure if I could forgive someone that hurt any of my children, so I wonder how Amora overcame the barrier. Good review!

I can understand Leo's anger and his need for vengeance at the brutal killing of his daughter. He was living in a patriarchal society during that time. Failing to protect one's family would have been seen as a sign of weakness. The existing gender bias and expectations in this society shaped the differing paths Leo and Amora chose.

Life was must have been hard at that time being a Christian, choosing between vengeance and forgiveness. Obviously it should be forgiveness, but it isn't an easy pill to take. I enjoy this review. Congrats on making the book of the day.

Losing a child and having her marriage crumble as a result must have been painful for Amora. Her courage and resolve to forgive and press on in her newfound faith is intriguing. I am in awe of her faith and trust in God. This is a must read for me. Thank you for a wonderful review.

I read Amora a while ago and absolutely loved it. I loved spending time in Rome, and the author included interesting facts and events that history buffs will enjoy reading. Leo and Antonio were my favorite characters and I enjoyed following their respective journeys. Congrats on the BOTD selection!

The loss of a child is never an easy burden for a patent to carry, especially when there is someone to blame. The choice between vengeance and forgiveness, and the reasons for bad things happening to good people are addressed in this Christian novel set in ancient Rome. Thanks for the thorough review!

The story of Amora sounds like a bittersweat kind; she suffers lose of her loved daughter and yet still joins Christianity--rolling the burden away. I like the brilliant central theme of this book: Choosing between forgiveness and revenge. I would like to read this one. Congrats on the BOTD!

I am torn honestly. I do not normally go for faith based books, but this one seems intriguing enough. I may opt to take a look at it.
