Success requires the toughest battle of your life, testing you physically, mentally, and emotionally each day. You'll be given challenging tasks to complete, just as those who have succeeded before you. Candy, a young woman, faced numerous obstacles but persevered in her dream. Despite an early abortion and a surgeon's terrible behavior, she didn't give up. Instead, The review clearly and accurately summarized her inspiring story. it has summarized the story very well. I am excited and thrilled to read this book.

Candy's role as a gritty person determined to overcome challenges and obstacles to achieve her ambition is fabulously incorporated in this historical fiction novel.

I wonder what happened that she had to terminate the pregnancy. Well I am glad that she turned her lemons into lemonades. I am looking forward to reading this book. Congratulations to the author on winning book of the day.

What an interesting and heart wrenching story. To be forced to do something Candy doesn't want to do and the go through a horrible abortion is just unimaginable. Also trying to make her stand in a male dominated world could not have been an easy task. I definitely want to see how this all ends. Thanks for a detailed review. Congrats on BOTD.

When historical fiction is mentioned, I usually think of novels set in the 1800s, but this novel is set in what I find to be a very interesting period of change in one of the world's biggest, precedent-setting cities. As an extension of women's rights and the suffragette movement, the fight that Candy is involved in is still being fought today in many ways. Thanks to all the women and men who fought over the last century or more, we have taken great steps toward full equality. However, even today, the fight hasn't finished. This novel's snapshot in time is a valuable insight into our history.

A story of a young woman persevering through hardships to become a doctor. I admired her courage and commitment to succeed in a man's 'world, as it was then. Dealing with an overbearing mother, and the social morass of the time, but still wanting to honor the thousand-year-old tradition of a having a January girl, has her conflicted. The sampling doesn't elaborate on what led to her abortion, I am very interested in finding out the rest of her story. Great review!

I have not read the book yet, but I'm proud of Candy for putting her career above having a family. Her character represents the modern-day working woman whose life is not defined by marriage and kids but by her career. This is one of those books I'm adding to my must-reads list for 2023.

Wow, thank you for the review.
I love how you capture and explain the reflection of glass as part of the story.
The exploration of Candy's character, her struggle, and the upside down in her life to become a strong woman really intriguing to overlook too. Yes, and the story really screams woman's right

This is a good story about how women can move forward in life without being held back by traditional societal norms. However, i found it a bit confusing. I think the editing was not well done and i could not understand some lines. This hampers a good story which i believe has a lot of potential.
