An intriguing and unusual novel. It's nice to see that the author considered the relevant aspects of the historical context of the time. I'm certainly interested in finding out what is behind the murders and who the murderer is. Thank you for this captivating review.

This review is so rich. Well done. I am now interested in this novel myself. Apart from the fact that I consider historical fiction extremely intelligent, I'd love to find out how Sir Anthony arrives at answers to his questions. I'd also love to see how he unravels the secret of these religious and political leaders.

I honestly really despise historical novels, but this one sounds so good. I think this book could pass as a fiction novel with such a rich storyline. The review actually makes me want to read it. Well done!

Woah! a killer who repeatedly targets priests; This book makes me think of the film "Exorsist." To learn more about the depraved church leaders, I would want to read the book. I appreciate the review.

The book sounds intriguing. I love historical fiction, and it would best interesting to see someone from this time question their faith due to what they learn while investigating murders. I am hesitant because Hugh’s speech, as described in the review, does sound more Yoda than Irish. Still, I’d have to read it for myself to see if it’s really that bad. Thank you for the helpful review.

This lengthy review did well to spell out clearly, what any history buff would find to be an exciting setting for a story. Those were exciting times and there was a lot going on back then. We still didn't know our place in the universe and many powerful people (religious and otherwise) sought to take advantage of that ignorance, becoming as wealthy and powerful as possible. With an interesting backdrop like that, the story should carry itself right along.

I like the themes of this novel. It explores mystery, romance, philosphy, adventure, corruption, and science. Some topics may appear sensitive but readers should approach this book with an open mind. Congratulations on BOTD!

I appreciate this in-depth review, but I'm not a fan of historical fiction. Plus, this is the second book in the installment and I always like to start from the first book and go on from there.

Reading in this review what Sir Anthony discovers, it reminds me of the current world we live in. Many have been discovered to have less noble intentions. Thank you for the review.

Sir Anthony has to deal with religious controversies and scandals set in the sixteenth century. I liked the outline but I am not a fan of historical fiction so I will be skipping this book. Thanks for the review. Congrats on the BOTD!
