I'd have to pass on this book; books on the Vietnam war do not interest me although Brendan sounds like an interesting character. Nicely written review.

Quite an interesting title; I'd love to read how Brendan fares in the war since his stand seems to be different. Thanks for the amazing review.

I think I might give this book a try. My views with war is the same as the protagonist. Although I'm not a pacifist, I'm don't really agree with some war that's happening.

Today's Book of the Day seems to explore the psychological effects of war and the journey to redemption. Congratulations!

I was thinking the book will be from a Korean author because they mostly make use of the title when referring to years and past events. I love the review of this book. I'll like to know the Full details of the book. Thanks for the free copies. Congratulations on BOTD

A well-written book of war and redemption. This book has interesting characters and quite a unique title. Looking at the title and cover of the book, I never would've guessed the contents of it. This is an interesting and unique book.

Interesting story about the things
we don't know about war. Sometimes it takes people like Brendan Leary for us to realize that there is also a struggle for the people who have moral reservations about killing. Awesome review.

I've always loved historical fiction surrounding the Vietnam era, and this one really looks like it is a great addition to the genre.

Brian had a lot of experiences in the war. I think that' shaped his mind differently and then he aspires to be a monk. I'm happy that the author was able to develop a distinctive perspective on a well-known historical backdrop. Great review

"In the Year of the Rabbit" by Terence A. Harkin. An interesting historical fiction, talks more about Hitler and the war in Vietnam which hurt a lot of people psychologically. It is well written and detailed, but at some places has profane words. Congrats on your #BOTD.

A historical fiction novel that is about the personal struggles of the protagonist even as he is caught up in Vietnam war. Congrats on being BOTD.

It will be interesting reading about the author's psychological musings while stationed in Vietnam as a cameraman. It's sad he was stationed there though he was against the war. Thanks for the review.

Thank you for your great review. I'm glad that you liked the book so much. While parts of it sound interesting, I'm not one that enjoys reading about wars, so I'm going to pass on this one. I think it's great that the author could make smooth transitions from the war to being a monk, including all of the psychological twists and turns.

In the Year of the Rabbit by Terence A. Harkin, the story of Sergeant Leary, a soldier who wants to become a Buddhist monk, sounds enchanting. I will love to read the book and find out why Leary made such a great decision. Congratulations on the BOTD.
