Money and reputation are a huge foundation in a lot of families. I would love to finish this book as to find out what Becca's secret is and to see the outcome of Sarah's pregnancy.

It sounds terrible to say this because this is a nice story about a family, but nothing about this sounds particularly interesting to me currently. I am really into crime books right now. That being said I would put this on a back shelf for a time when I get off my current kick.

A modern, personal version of War and Peace. Generational cultures fascinate me, I look forward to learning how the author does this.

After recent BOTD samples have been high energy, crime or mystery based thrillers, it is indeed a different pace to read character-driven chapters from Eden: A Novel.
I appreciate the generational story and have no doubt it would be an interesting read of discovering how and why the characters have become who they are.
Your review references ‘first world problems’ and i did start to have that feeling, while engaging with the sample, at the point the large, grand Eden property was described. Initially the reader may feel a little sorry for Becca as she confronts the probable loss of not just the holiday home, but the memories that were made there. However, then the size of the ‘mansion’ is realised and I found myself feeling a little less concerned for her and the family.

I absolutely agree about the descriptive visuals. I read the short sample on Amazon and even just with that, I was already able to form a vivid picture in my imagination of the settings. I think your review hit everything dead on - great work!

A family that big will always have conflicts. It's sound like a very interesting read even though I sense a complicated story line. I plan on checking it out.

Even after reading the review, I'm not sure if it's one I would enjoy.

A family story where the family has a big secret. What's strange about this one us it seems the secret is secret from the family too. An unusual situation, but not my sort of book.
Thanks for the great review.

As has already been mentioned, I'm curious to know what the family secret is. I actually like when authors focus on character development, so I'm excited to check out this book about a family and their home. Great review!

A drama-driven story doesn't necessarily sound like a bad idea by itself. I tend to like dramas accompanied by another genre though since I feel it keeps things more interesting. From your descriptions of the "gorgeous" coastline and the complexity of the characters, I can assume this book will stand out in its detail. It's not really a story that I picture myself reading, but it might be a good read for someone else. Thank you for the review!

Family drama of wealthy individuals isn't really my cup of tea. Great review though.
Interested in books that help one's spirit move beyond the ordinary.
