The sample intrigued me. I am eager to read the rest of Beth's tumultuous journey. I hope the errors have been addressed by now.

One thing I took out of this review was the right balance of descriptions and dialogues. The writer's ability to describe the characters very well, enough for a reader to relate to them has piqued my curiosity. Nice work.

Thank you for your well written review! This is not a genre I generally read, so I may pass on this particular novel. It is nice to read that the book was well written with good character development. Congrats on BOTD!

A story of a woman forced into becoming a nun, due to unhappy circumstances sounds almost drab and grey to me. But the later part of the story does sound more interesting, and I will be interested to find out what happens between Beth and the Father. At this point, the review did not give any more details so it will mean that I will need to read the book to find out! Because this is based on a true story, something interesting must have happened and I am curious about it. The review was interesting and I am curious about this book.

I could see where the plot was heading from the pages I sampled. The review confirmed what I had expected. For me, the details of Britany and Rouen and Haiti, along with the information about Creole and the inhabitants of the isles at that time were the most valuable part.
I don't think I would like the book as much as the reviewer has.
Thank you anyway!

The book has an intriguing premise and the fact that it is based on a true story, makes me more curious to read it.

Great review! What this poor young woman had to go through just to survive. Although, we all get caught up in some type of survival mode like in life. Mostly our life is dictated by circumstances beyond our control and few options available to each of us. That's why a lot of us do some pretty ridiculous things to survive. Anyway, Thanks for the review. Will definitely read this.

This is an historical fiction based on a true story that contains heartbreak, abuse, and intrigue. For fans of this genre, it sounds like it is worth giving it a try. Great review!

I sympathize with Beth. I always wonder how someone could be motivated to choose the life of a nun. Thank you for the review.

Wow, this book sounds interesting! I love the setting and time period, and I truly enjoyed the first chapter. I wonder how a nun ends up fleeing for her life, and from what. I'm putting this book on my shelves for sure.

Thanks for the enticing review!
