This is an excellent historical fiction novel with some accurate historical descriptions, action, adventure, and mystery. Another great book from Greg Kater. Excellent review, as always.

I’m not familiar with the author’s other works, but this sounds like a great book for fans of historical fiction. It’s good to know this one can be read without having read the trilogy first.

The first thing I did notice is this beautiful cover and I'm glad to know that there is more to it than that.
I don't think I have read many books that are set in East Asia I will be interested in reading this one. Good review!

A historical fiction with already familiar characters, full of action, weaved with exoticism and correctness. I want to read it! Thanks for the review.

With this book being BOTD, all three books of the Warmanga trilogy became BOTD in the recent past. So, undoubtedly this can be recommended as a good book as same as the first two books. Congratulations on being BOTD

This book takes place in China post-war. It's historically accurate and packed with excitement. This isn't a genre I generally enjoy but it sounds like a great book for those that do.

What an excellent review! By judging the book by its cover, I wouldn't have picked up this book, but reading your review makes me reconsider. I have very little knowledge on post-war China and I find the historical scenery very interesting, although I don't particularly care about the personal story and the opium wars.

Themes such as friendship, patriotism, and the power of self-sacrifice run in parallel with the thirst for power, corruption, or the consequences of war. With a gradually rising tension and a satisfying climax, Conflict on the Yangtzewould be a delight for all fans of historical fiction and espionage thrillers.

I enjoy reading espionage thrillers filled with action, suspense, and adventure! Therefore, I added this book to my TBR list! Plus, it has well-developed characters and is also well edited. I am glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the detailed review! :tiphat:

Sounds like a lot packed into an action and adventure book. I like that while the book is mainly about Jamie and Jack, it also follows their families that they believe are protected. I also like that the author chose to use villains from all different backgrounds. Thank you for the engaging review!
