It seems like another great and painful read about the Holocaust. I will read it when I will be in the proper state of mind. Thank you for this excellent review!

I appreciated the author's research to bring these facts to light. When we face the truth, we can begin to heal. Thanks for reading and commenting.

This was an intriguing aspect of the story. Even in the midst of the most trying circumstances, love and friendship blossomed! Thanks for your insightful comments.

The book highlights how love and friendship can overcome even in war. I admired Victoria's decision to choose friendship and compassion in the midst of her own painful situation. Thanks for reading!

Was Victoria Jewish? I am now reading a book about Hungarian Jewry who were brought to Auschwitz, even those of them who had earlier converted to Christianity. It would seem that for the Nazis, it was a question of race, not religion.

Victoria was Catholic. Part of the Nazi persecution was against the Jews. The Germans also went after anyone who was considered "defective," like Etta who was a deaf-mute. I will be looking for your next review!

The contents are really too much to consume but quite informative. I still find it difficult to believe that there existed a time when humans were treated this poorly. Thanks for your interesting review.

The author did a good job of integrating the historical elements with the fictional aspects of the story. Thanks for your heartfelt comment.

Thanks for your detailed review. This book sounds quite interesting. There are not many books that will address the 20s' social issues, like Victoria's being a slave and Etta's inability to meet the perfect Aryan's standards. Given the hellish treatments the Nazis gave their victim, this book is definitely not for the faint of heart.

Yes. The story show readers some difficult truths. I like that the author used a fictional character to present the story and the facts she researched. I appreciate your thoughtful comments. Thanks!

The creator worked superbly of depicting Victoria and the Polish ladies. The boldness and versatility of these ladies overpowers and moves simultaneously. I valued all the recorded data the creator fused into the anecdotal story. Much obliged such a huge amount for perusing and remarking!

Historical fictions are interesting. But this story seems intense and touching. So I’m not sure whether I want to read this or not. Nonetheless, thanks for your wonderful review.

I'm interested in historical stories regarding World War II and this one sounds so captivating yet tragic. I can't always stomach explicit violence, but still might give it a chance hopefully. Thank you for your eloquent review!

The author did extensive research to enrich the story with true facts about what happened to these women. It truly enriched the story. Thanks for leaving a comment!
