And with the review, I like the way the author explicitly described the characters to avoid confusion in a novel with numerous characters.

This review has got me gearing up to read the book, I love the fact that there is a character list at the beginning of the book and an explanation of each character as they appear in the book to make for easier understanding.
The surprise twist at the end also gives me something to look forward to. Thank you

If there's something I can perceive from your astounding review, it's that the book has a captivating storyline. Moreover, character development is something I really appreciate and look forward to. I wouldn't particularly say that historical novels are my cup of tea, however, I can't help acknowledging the admirable plot and style of writing. The fact that the author put forward great detail concerning the characters is commendable. Adding a map for better understanding of the story is a bonus!

I'm not keen on historical fiction but I love ancient Egypt, so a mystery in that setting seems really intriguing to me. Thank you for your great review!

It can only be Interesting with a review as explicit as this, the book is packed with legendary, mythical, historical fiction the reviewer had a good time reading this particular book of the series. The plot and character in this one are definite proof that I would not miss out on an opportunity for the whole deal. Excellent review.

Scepter of Flint is a historical fiction with so many characters that makes it sound confusing. The story build up introduces each character, so vividly, making it easy to relate and visualize. The plot has many intricacies of ancient rulers that boils down to power play, treachery and eavesdropping, like what hackers are doing now. This book is recommended for those who love history written like an action-oriented film script.

This is definitely not my genre, but it sounds like the character development is strong in this book. It also sounds like the author did a great job of world-building. I like the addition of Egyptian history. Thanks for the informative review.

I don’t think I’d read a better series book this year; Holmes is undoubtedly an exceptional writer.
That is high praise coming from someone that, I'm sure, reads a ton.
Additionally, the character development was excellent. I mean, considering the number of characters and the position of this novel in the series, one would expect some confusion when certain names are mentioned, but Holmes did a terrific job with characterization.
This is so important! I usually get lost with so many characters, especially when the names are not familiar and the author fails on the characterization.
There were lots of great characters in the book, but my favorite was Neferet. I loved her personality. She is fearless and says what she thinks. Even though many other characters saw her as one with a leaky mouth, I thought she was just bold and acted her age. Also, I think she was calculative, especially with the way she manipulated Hani's boss, Lord Ptha-mes, into doing what she wanted.
Love me a fierce female character!

It seems like a great book. Thank you!
