This is a political thriller set amid conflicts in the Middle East. Sabah seems to be an interesting character given his persistence in developing his career as a doctor in countries at war as well as his persistence to trust people. It sounds like an entertaining option.

A political thriller that feels in many ways like the chronicles of a terrible war, a tragedy that repeats over and over again around the world. The novel depicts some dark sides of humanity but also the good things people can do. Thank you for your great review!

I was intrigued what might happen to Sabal after he was caught eavesdropping. His character, as the protagonist in this political thriller, seems well-written. It is not a genre that appeals to me, so I am passing on this. Thanks for a good review on this novel.

Sabah's character seems very interesting. That he goes ahead to study medicine after fleeing Iraq, shows determination. Also, the setting in the middle East and the names of the characters caught my attention. Refugee on a pendulum is a catchy name, big ups to the writer.

War stories are always sad, whichever side you are on. I hope we won't need wars to produce heroes like Sabah.

Wow, sounds very intense! I have always wonder how is it, to be in a different country, trying to do a life with 0 knowledge of the place, culture, language, etc.

This books seems a very instructive side of view for the wars.
Thank you so much for the review!

It is incredibly sad that wars, which are often caused by the interests of a few people in power, can affect the lives of hundreds or thousands of ordinary people. I'm glad this book shines a light on the plight of refugees, especially now that we are experiencing the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

I won't lie the whole "political espionage thriller filled with action and suspense" thing sounds extremely appealing, but with current world situation the "refugee" word and description of various war crimes made me reconsider. Probably I will shelve it for some other time, but at the moment I prefer to pass it. Apologies and congrats on BOTD!

I am not particularly intrigued by this book or the book's plot because I really do not like war novels, but I am intrigued by the views of the students, and the views of the youth about the chaos happening around them. Thank you so much for such a detailed review!

I would like to watch this story as a movie. I think it's going to have many suspends and some guns with the way I understand the review. Nice review too.

I wonder how Sabah and Jalal interact and change throughout the novel with all of the turmoil going on in the country? Not the book for me, but it does sound interesting. Thanks for the review!

Throwing light on the horrible things that are happening in the Middle East is such a strong move, especially in book. Congratulations on BOTD and great review.

I wonder how he finished school after he caught the blackmail of Jalal's father. Hope Sabah was not threatened by Jalal's father. All these and more are what I would love to find out. Great review
