This book has everything I love: religious intrigue, romance, history, and even a little humor. And I'm familiar enough, having been raised a Catholic, with the intricacies of this religion to understand the story. Thank you!

I like historical fiction, and this book seems to have quite a few of the elements that I enjoy, as well as the poetic narrative. It will be interesting to see how Anthony and Hugh get along together, despite the tensions that will arise between them. Thanks for a good review on this book.

Although today's BOTD isn't one for me, I really enjoyed your review! It was very well-written and explained the storyline in an easy-to-understand manner. I also liked how you gave details of the cover, characters, and the political and religious leaders. Readers of historical fiction, romance, and philosophy are in for a treat! Thank you so much! :-)

Historical events always make for intriguing mystery novels. This second installment in the series seems to be no exception.

Thank you for a great review. I agree with you - Hugh’s speech ala yoda would totally throw me off. Otherwise, the book sounds very interesting!

I'm usually not a fan of historical fiction, but when I started reading the review, it gave me Indiana Jones vibes. The fact that it is a mystery set in the late 16th to early 17th century involving a serial killer makes me want to give it a try. Hope Sir Anthony turns out to be an interesting protagonist.

The cover was a bit scary for me, but from your review I am glad to learn that the acts of violence discussed in the book are not graphic. I think anyone who enjoys historical fiction would love this book. Thank you for such a detailed review.

The book seems thought-provoking, and philosophical and has Religious and other concepts that are deep and sensitive. The Catholic church in earlier centuries had a lot of challenges and complicated situations. The theories being espoused here seem only the tip of the iceberg. Enter an investigation of, the relationship between the English and Irish, and we have a thriller at hand. Thank you for this great review. I am still trying to catch my breath, I am.

Corruption in the Catholic church has been a problem ever since I can remember it does not seem to stop. However, it seems that we do not know where to find its origin going back this far in history. This is a great review thank you.

Thanks for an honest review! The book cover is quite fascinating and also, the storyline. It sounds a bit complex, so I’ll pass on this.

Historical fiction books are sometimes so great because they are entertaining and informative at the same time. This one also has a unique plot with the murder mystery. Congratulations on book of the day!

This is an interesting historical thriller novel highlighting greed, corruption, hypocrisy, the Catholic church, and a serial killer targeting priests. The book is temporarily free on Amazon Kindle and has a well-written OnlineBookClub review. Congrats on the BOTD selection.
