Life becomes exceptionally hard when we get forced out of the familiar into the unfamiliar, especially when there are no guarantees. Annalise and her family experienced this and more. Your take on "Once We Were Family" only affirms my wanting to be absorbed in this book. Reading the sample, I was so anxious as young Annalise pretended to be her best friend's younger sister.
