The story drew me in quicker than I anticipated! Easy to read but still kept my interest. I like the small details that remind you of the historical timeframe.

In the book's free sample, I appreciated Chadwick's kindness in adopting the two girls whose parents died in a shipwreck. Great review.

I enjoyed these reviews of, Their Winter Burn" by Mary Ann Trail. The fact it can be a read alone although there are other stories connected to this couple, it allowed me to step in and read this story without feeling I was missing something. Having lived in Boston for many years, I can empathize with this couple's feeling on the freezing weather. I love reading historical books . Throw in a mystery and a bit of romance and you've got this wonderful story. Can't wait to read the others in the series.

Captain Jeffery and his companions must have had a wonderful and mysterious experience in Boston. I'll like to know more about this. It might make a good story. Nice review.

The unexpected revelation encountered by Captain Jeffrey Chadwick and his wife inside a new home promises suspense and drama. Curious to see how their fates unfold amidst Boston's society in the nineteenth century.

The review about the book is very clear and understandably, am curious to read this book to see how Captain Jeffrey Chadwick will cope up with the people of Boston and how they will perceive him, as the author states.
So nice!

I'm a fan of the historical fiction genre, and this era is one of my favourites. I'm curious about the mystery the Chadwicks found at the new property. I'm a bit disappointed, though, that the novel isn't as romantic as suggested by the cover. Thanks for this nice review!

'Mary Ann transported readers back to the nineteenth century, where they could experience the culture, technology, economy, conflict, and activities of the people of Boston in the Americas in the 1800s.' With this description, this book interests me. Good review.

While it will be interesting to read once about the daily activities of a household in the 1800s, and their struggles as an immigrant family, a repetition would indeed seem overkill and boring to me. Glad to see it was not major enough to take away from the joy of reading the book.

It sounds like an American version of a Jane Austen book - a similar time period and similar concepts.

This is an interesting historical fiction novel highlighting an immigrant family, their settlement in Boston, mystery, secrecy, and an amazing yet simplified writing style. The book is temporarily discounted on Amazon Kindle and has a well-written OnlineBookClub review.

You are right; I thought this was a historical romance. I love a good mystery, but the mismatch was strange. Moving to the Americas without any of the modern comfort or information access must have been a real struggle.
Great review.
