I must admit, I don't usually read historical fiction (nor Holocaust books -- had my fill of them back in high school!), but since this is based on a personal history, it sounds intriguing. And, of course, we must never forget, especially given the current Neo-Nazi political frontrunner in the U.S. elections...

This review is thoroughly engaging and draws you in and makes you want to know more about the story that is written. The book sounds engaging and heartbreaking while also giving you a taste of what the characters have experienced while striving to be as realistic as possible. Definitely a book to check out.

Great review! While the format of letters is appealing to me (big Perks fan here!), I'm not really a fan of historical literature so unfortunately this book will be a pass for me.

Great review. I like that the characters are detailed and feel real enough for you to become attached to them. I also love it when a book is well researched and it comes through in the storytelling. Congratulations to the author!
