Not sure this book is for me, but I'm glad you enjoyed the story. It's also a plus that it was edited well. Thanks for a great review!

The title is so catchy, it's going to be difficult to walk away from this one. It sounds like a really good book.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. I love the comparison of panning for gold being like playing chess with God. It’s unique and thought provoking.

This is definitely a great Historical fiction novel. I like it that the book is fascinating and weaved with well-developed characters in a pool of historical events. This is a book I would like to read.

I am certainly a fan of historical fiction novels but I'm not particularly interested in the setting of this one (the Gold Rush). That being said, this is a fantastic review! :)

I have always loved Historical books, especially ones that are discovery and tragedies. I love anything about gold mines. The history has always interested me, even in History class. A good book about love and loss is always good.

Relatable and we'll developed characters are something I like in a story. However this story seemed to have a perfec protagonist who is hard to relate in real life. But otherwise the story seemed to be a very interesting and fascinating. Thank you for an excellent review.

I like historical fiction, and this book seems to develop a topic that I would love to find out more; I'm not so familiar with the period of the California Gold Rush. Plus, the title is creative and catchy. Thank you for your lovely review!

Generally I'm not into historical fiction, but the Gold Rush is a fascinating period for me. The stories of people hoping to become rich or to make some money thanks to those luckier people are intriguing.

We need more people of integrity in the world, who neither drink, smoke or take any sort of drugs but just real in their dealings like Henning. I assume this book is good for everyone. Thanks for the informative review.

If the main character is, as you say, too perfect to be relatable, I can imagine myself becoming irritated with him should I read this book! Also the lack of a main antagonist is a pity — often villains can be more interesting and relatable than heroes, in stories. I don’t often care for historical fiction but this may be a good book for research purposes.
