A legal thriller with a historical undertone. A combination that I am very much interested in. It is nice to know about laws and the legal system. It is also more challenging to learn the background and heart of these laws and how it is applied. Although I have always been a citizen who gives the benefit of the doubt, I believe, I have always the sneaking suspicion about the activities of any judicial system, and its biases whether purposedly done, unintentional, with or without corrupt intentions. After all, they are just humans and everything is possible. The story would give me perhaps a wider and keener perspective. I also love History. And for the first time, I encountered the words "Cajun People". I would like to know more. But what will make me love the book is the idealism of the characters the review subtly and silently portrays. Nice!

I really enjoyed reading some of the history of the Cajun culture. Noel's parents are kind and compassionate people who have a love of family traditions that is very heartwarming. The author begins the story with Noel, an attorney, in jail after a fight with a district attorney concerning racial injustice. The sample was marvelous! I loved the writer's 'style. Great review! :) :)

I love that this book covers contemporary topics such as racial discrimination and human rights. This book inspires the reader to share with society despite a person's social status. Noel's mother gave back to the people on the island even though she was poor.

This seems to be an exciting story. The author addresses the issue of human rights in the early 20th century Cajun people vis-a-vis the age-long problem of racism. I have to read this book. Thanks for the review.

The book was started with a brief insight into the history of the Cajun people.
Giving more prior information about the Cajun people.
It also talks about being determined and being ready to survive at all cost no matter what the case may be.
Nice Review.

After reading about Noel's journey from Cajun island life to the complexities of New Orleans, I'm eager to dive into 'Cajun Crow and the Mockingbird' by Jimmie Martinez. The blend of history, character depth, and social commentary promises an intriguing read.
