Cynthia Hilston seems talented in writing a fictional series. It will be interesting to see what kind of life Stephen had after the experience of having had abusive father. You have written the review so well noting that they're life lessons in this fiction. I would like to read such fictions. Congratulations on the BOTD!

I would like to read the other books in this series before reading the third. The story is nothing special, but I like the resilience of the main character; Stephen has been determined and persevering in his life; I believe that he will not follow in his father's footsteps.

This is one interesting book that centres on Love, Family, Healing and Determination. I want to know how on Stephen and Julie's love story.

The author's use of detailed descriptions made the characters come to life, and the first-person narrative from Stephen's perspective was engaging. The plot was well-structured and kept the reader guessing, with a satisfying amount of suspense. The reader also appreciated the life lessons embedded in the story, including not letting other people's opinions define or control one's life and learning to let go of past wrongs and individuals who caused those wrongs.

I'm intrigued to see if Stephen repeats his father's mannerisms in his marriage. The only way to find out is to get this book and that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Poor Stephen! I hope he learned from his childhood experiences and did better as an adult. I can only feel for him. Good work with the review!

The first chapter had me gasping at how awful Stephen's life was from such a young age. I'm looking forward to seeing how his life improves. Thanks for the review. It sounds like this is going to be an easy yet absorbing read. I'm glad you said it can be read as a stand-alone, so I don't need to seek out the first two to be able to enjoy this.

Poor Stephen, I do not appreciate it when a child is blamed for their mother's death. That's a really bad mindset to grow up with. Interesting review but I think I'd skip this book.

I'm glad that this romance fiction can be read as a stand-alone. Thank you for the review and for the recommendation.

How Stephen was treated by his father and siblings after his mother passed away is heartbreaking. I sincerely hope he'll live a better life. Thanks for the review.

Stephen’s life must be pretty challenging. Carving one’s own success path when you have a drunkard father is not easy. I would like to know more about Stephen’s journey. Thanks for the review!

As I read your review on the book, I have imagined those other romance stories and movies that I have watched before. I am not into romance stories but I still want to know how Stephen and Julie managed their lives after their decision to move in together. I'd like to see the conflict in every story and how the characters solve it in a realistic manner. Thanks for your great review!
