Very nice review. The storyline intrigues me and I’m interested to see the life that Beth chooses to live.

I think not many books tackle a very sensitive topic this one has and I am looking forward to digging into this novel to find out how Beth survived every challenge presented to her. The book cover is intriguing and surely stirs and capture one's attention right away in the same way that it kind of pushes one away because of immediate thinking it is about religion.

Fantastic job with the review! This novel piqued my interest, not just the plot, but I'm always fascinated to read about historical elements in fiction. I also love Caribbean settings, so I would enjoy seeing how the author uses Haiti and its culture.

Very good review on a book with major errors. I'm not sure if I would like reading this one due to the nun breaking vows part but I like that the author was able to portray the characters in a relatable style.

I like that the author made use of an unexpected twist, just when we thought the trial times were over in Beth’s life. Thanks for the review.

Treating someone as less than human is despicable, regardless of how it presents itself. I can imagine it was worse in Beth's case, given that her oppressor was also family. Nice premise.

Even through I am not religious person, I always thought monastic orders with all their charity works, to be fairly admirable calling. But then I had misfortune to see movie "The Magdalene Sisters" which shattered my beliefs completely. I will never be able to see nuns in favorable light, therefore prefer to skip this book.

This book sounds like one you enjoyed reading overall. The storyline doesn't appeal to me so I will be passing on reading this book.

Thank you for this review. It's unfortunate to see those pesky typographical errors but the book generally is worth reading.

This story sounds like it has an interesting premise. I'm not sure it's quite my style, but it's sure to appeal to fans of historical thrillers. It's too bad it had grammatical errors. Thanks for the detailed review.

From the cover, it was quite challenging to predict the plot. I like that Beth and Rene are calm and resilient. They seem like the perfect combination of protagonists. I enjoyed your review.
