That's quite a simply put review. I think I'll like this book mainly because I can relate to the protagonist; I think all book lovers will.

This book sounds great! I love emotional reads. Call me a masochist- the more tears, the better.

Very excited to read this book. I love historical fiction and I'm excited to explore the WWI era. I'm glad you mentioned the opening of the book as when I did a quick read of the first page that exact sentence stuck out to me. I just know I will love Katy and will love to follow her story. Sounds like an excellent read. Thank you for your review!

I like the theme of romance prevailing between Katy and Jem. I wonder if it will survive the time that Jem is away fighting in the war. Thanks for the review.

"Daffodils" is historical romance by Alex Martin about Katy's life against a backdrop of World War I. Very interested to learn more about a person who actually saw and lived through the war. Congratulations on BOTD!!

I really hate wars. And reading about Jem going off to prove his worth in a worthless war leaving Katy alone is just heart-wrenching. Great review.

Thank you for the comprehensive and moving review! Daffodils seems to be a very moving story!

Wonderfully written book! The story about a girl, Kathy, trying to find her place in a world facing, and during, war. The story takes off right before WW1, and then progresses through the war. The language creates a vivid image in the reader’s mind. The language used is powerful, especially in later scenes that describe the atrocities of war. Would recommend for anyone over 15. Worth the read.

Based on the review this book is not something that I would enjoy reading. I dislike reading books about war. I also don't like to read books that talk a lot about blood. The romance of the story did interest me. Overall, I think that I will pass on reading this book.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical fiction about Katy and her love that are about to deal with WWII and her love's desire to volunteer and how Katy will deal with her life during this tumultuous time. Well done.

I didn't see the depth of emotion you did in the first little bit that I read... I'm hoping it gets deeper as you move further in. Thank you for your review.

Having read into the book a bit, it does genuinely sound like a nice story with a good deal of heart put into it; however, I'm not a fan of historical fiction or romance. Everything seems nice, and I know others will enjoy reading this one. I like the setting myself, but I don't see myself reading this book.
