It takes great creativity to weave fictional conversations into true stories like was done by Rebecca. Glad it was enjoyable, and thank you for the wonderful review.

Today's book the day is based on a true-life story of a woman, who was strong, hardworking and self-sufficient in a time when women were seen as housewives and should only be concerned about housekeeping and childraising. It feels good to read the history of such a woman. Congrats on #BOTD!

Congratulations on being BOTD!
The plot and Elizabeth's independent spirit are two things I adore. The story is based on a true story, and I admire the author's efforts to fictionalize it while maintaining all of the original facts.

Gold mining has always been an interesting subject to read about. Now we don't only get to read it we also get to read about a fantastic woman who shows what women suffer at the hand of unfaithful men and also helps us understand the wild tale of the west about baby doe and the matchless mine. Thanks for the review.

A historical fiction showing miners during the gold rush era sound like a delightful literary treat, especially when there is a strong female character at the heart of the story. Congrats on BOTD!

The Baby Doe is a symbol of bravery, and resilience especially in those times. This reality-based gold mine story would attract readers. Great review and congrats on BOTD.

Elizabeth McCourt aka Baby Doe is an inspiring and powerful character. She fought for women’s rights in the 1800s when they were unheard of. I commend the author for her research on the life of Baby Doe to produce an authentic book on her life. Thanks for the detailed review.

I haven't heard about Baby For but from this review, I see that she was a strong woman. Reading about her life would also bring light to a society that didn't give much right to women.

The article discusses the true story of Elizabeth McCourt, also known as Baby Doe, who followed her wealthy husband to Central City, Colorado in 1878 to manage his father's gold mine. When her husband refused to work, she took on the job herself and gained the nickname Baby Doe. After her husband abandoned her and their unborn child, she divorced him and became a social outcast. The article praises Baby Doe as a brave and hardworking woman who fought for her own rights and financial security in a time when women had few rights. The author of the book, Gold Digger: The Remarkable Baby Doe Tabor, based the story on extensive research and portrayed Baby Doe as a kindhearted and determined individual. The book includes fictionalized dialogue and each chapter starts with the location and year to provide authenticity.

Now this is an interesting book to read. The way she left her husband is very incredible, no wife should suffer because of a no good husband. I really want to read this book now. Thanks for the review.

Gold digger is a true story of a woman who got married to a rich man. When I read the review I felt she is a hard working woman, but he had a misfortune in life. I'm waiting to read this book.

The social interactions in the culture we live in now are changing, and this book really shines in its portrayal of a real woman in the past. with all the social norms that women are expected to follow and the associated oppression. Congratulations on winning the BOTD; great book.

Edigbo B Emmanuel wrote: 28 Feb 2023, 06:55 This is a well appreciated book by me. The fact that Baby Doe knows her worth enough to fight for her right and not allow her life to be determined by what people will say if she goes against what was the norm at the time, (whether true or false), fascinates me. I hope we have more women who truly knows their worth enough to fight for what is right. Great review, congratulations on BOTD.

Baby Doe seems like a remarkable woman who stood her ground. I am amazed that she found the strength to do some of the things mentioned in the review. That would have required a lot of guts. I look forward to reading about Baby Doe and her life story. Congratulations on making book of the day!

Why was Baby Doe abandoned? If the term 'Gold Digger' was used to referred to her then I don't think it should be so. If Baby Doe goes to the mine to work and then sends money to her family, I don't think it's gold digging. Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, congratulations on BOTD.
