I've read a sample of this book and I must say that this review piques my interest even more. Then characters appear to be very relatable and I was able to follow the storyline even though I have not read the first part of this book. Thank you for your thorough review.

I am not so into historical fictions but this here seems quite engaging. I also like the line about aging: "Age is not a shabby coat one is compelled to wear with shame, but a splendid, triumphant cloak which bears testimony to a lifetime of experience." I'd like to check this book out. It seems enjoyable.

From what I read about the story this seems a remarkable story. I like reading about family drama, and the themes discussed in the book makes this more interesting to read. However since this is a sequel I would like to read the first one before this. Thank you for a great review.

I never knew there was to be a sequel to Ironbark Hill. The previous book was super...i'd advise everyone to read it. Its educative yet interesting. Seeing things from a different perspective.

I am not interested in reading women’s fiction or books that contain sexism and racism, as there are enough of those isms in real life and I mostly to escape! That said, I am sure that plenty of people interested in family dramas will like this.

It is lovely that the novel is written in first person perspective and I am truly grateful that the reader can see the world through the characters eyes as it is in different perspectives of Irma and her daughters.

I like adventures, and a fast-paced, adventure-filled novel sounds like one I can enjoy reading. However, I'm not sure if it can be read as a standalone. If not, I'll have to read the first installment before embarking on this. Thank you for this excellent review!

I like good character-driven novels about the struggles of ordinary but still seemingly strong women. The setting is one that I’m not familiar with, which makes it all the more enticing for me. Many of the themes, including social inequalities, racial tensions, gender roles, and coming-of-age, are things that most readers can benefit from whether they directly relate to them or not. Still, I’d rather wait until I’ve read the first book before I get to this one. Thank you for the helpful review.

This book seems to capture much more than the family of Irma. It touches many other elements that are important to humanity.

I already have Ironnark Hill to read so I was nervous to read review because I didnt want any spoilers from it. But I find that this is another one I will have to pick up. I think I can relate with Natalie and the idea that pleasure comes from taking care of the ones you love. That's how I feel about my family. I think I will give this one a try after I read Ironbark Hill. Congratulations on BOTD.
