Thank you for your review. As a historical fictional and non-fiction fan I am sure that I will enjoy reading this book. I have a particular interest in the history of warfare so thanks to your review I have added this to my shelves. It's good to know that the book is well-edited, well written, and has the bonus of relevant photos to enrich the text information. Your review was most helpful.

I do love historical fiction, and there is a reference to Hitler. Seems like my kind of book. Great review!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical fiction concerning the Nazis during WWII and the town of Putten in the Netherlands. It might be worth a second look especially for those interested in WWII novels. Well done.

Amazing start - yanked right into the action. WWII was a terrible and fascinating time but I always have trouble believing the atrocities which history records. Seeing it through the eyes of those who lived through it whether in fact or in fiction is an intense experience. It would be hard not to be sucked right into the lives of these people, I know I was.

I love books that are set in these periods, especially ones that incorporate real events. I definitely understand your thoughts on the heroine because sometimes when the lead females are too perfect and get praise from practically everyone, it can be a bit annoying. Great review!

I could literally see myself weeping for the people of Putten. How was the planned ambush of the Dutch resistance leaked? Did they have a mole among the Dutch resistance. The nazis are horrible to have set the town ablaze.

This historical fiction that portrays Hitler's invasion of the Netherland and the resistance of the Dutch toward the Nazis is an excellent piece of literature.

Apart from the author applying real-life events to narrate her story, she gives her book an authenticity that sounds very engrossing. As she includes real picture events and collects her story from the war survivors. This is apparently a brilliant book.

I love reading books about World War II.
Your review makes it all the more interesting. How did the ambush go wrong? I'll certainly find out. Thanks for the great review!
The book to read is not the one that thinks for you, but the one which makes you think.

This is a great book showing real events of what happened to Putten. I like that it is based in true stories from survivors; I am not a fan of historical fiction so I will pass on this but it's a well written story.
Don't say it's Impossible if you haven't given it a try.

War histories from people who were actually victims ,we don't hear that everyday. Sometimes one can be a victim of circumstances and suffer greatly although you may be innocent . I love real life stories
:D I believe in love
