It’s always interesting to see a single element—like war—work its way down a family tree and how it affects the family’s members along the way. I do have to wonder why Treat’s mother was catatonic and why he kept her a secret from his wife. I’m not too thrilled about World War I & II books lately, but I am more interested in the Spanish Influenza, so I’ll have to take other parts of the first half of the 1900s along with it.
