I don’t usually dabble in historical fiction but I do find this book’s premise quite compelling. Fans of historical fiction books involving the ancient Roman Empire would certainly enjoy this book. Great review.

This sounds like a lovely short story about the intrigues of Roman politics. Lovers of historical fiction and open-ended books should enjoy this one. Thanks for the review!

When it comes to history and historical fiction, I only refuse the offer once I am in and have read. I have added the book to my shelf and look forward to seeing how Lucius walks along this narrow path. Thanks for the review.

I love reading historical fiction, and I specifically enjoy reading anything set during the Roman empire. The plot sounds short and to the point but at the same time packed with intrigue. I am curious to learn how Lullus's actions will affect his son's political aspirations. Congrats on the BOTD selection!

The title got my attention but then I read the review and realized the the book was just not my type of genre, I'm not much on history and politics.

A mixed of love, politics and history captured in a single book. I would like to know how Lucius actions and carefree character will play out in the novel. I actually dislike his actions of wanting to erase everything that is linked to his grandfather. Respect for those who have gone before us makes us more reflective there by avoiding their mistakes.

The book shows an apt description of life in ancient rome. The politics, lies and manipulation made for an interesting read. It shows the parallel of slavery both as an actual slave and one who is slave to desires or ambition. I would totally recommend.

I'm not interested in politics, but the history related to Janus piqued my interest. The book has themes which are necessary in political drama. I wonder if the open-ended finale is satisfying enough or may hint for a possible sequel. Congratulations on the BOTD.

I thought this book is non-fiction! Haha, I'd love to read this. So glad it's free today. I'd been reading a lot about Greek and Roman myth and would consider this as my next read. Thanks a lot!

Love and politics sound like an interesting story. Will they follow their hearts or their desire in politics? I wonder how their story ends. Congrats on BOTD!
