The book was super cool. In pursuit of success, one must face difficult challenges, nothing good comes easily. The review was very elaborate and interesting. Congratulations on BOTD.

This sounds like an interesting fictional story. With the "engaging story and compelling characters", this book seems to be one that will make me enjoy my reading experience. Though historical fiction books seem to be a bit heavy on me, I will give this book a try.

Wow. I can't fathom how Elizabeth got engaged to a racist. How does she plan to make that work? And for how long? This book sounds interesting, to say the least.

This historical fiction certainly has a unique premise. I wonder if it will be discovered that Elizabeth is passing for white and what the reason for the duel in the book will be. Congrats on BOTD.

I have never heard a plot involving a person changing their race to start their life anew. On top of that, it's inspired from a true story. Will definitely read this one. Thanks for the review.

One of the things I have liked most about the book is that the factual and creative elements are brilliantly interwoven such that it does not seem forced. Thanks for the fascinating review. I am adding the book to my shelf.

I love your review. This seems like an engaging story, and I like how the author realistically portrayed Margaret. I’m curious to know how the story plays out between the two women.

Although historical fiction is not my favourite genre, I believe that the author has done a great job in describing these women's lives and write a gripping story.

It’s fascinating that the author got inspiration for the story from an old newspaper article about a duel. I love knowing how stories come to fruition. The premise also sounds compelling, even if Elizabeth’s is filled with so much tension from her having to pass due to racism and then her fiancé turns out to be a racist as well, making it seem impossible for her to ever be who she truly is. The fact that Margaret is an older character whose defining trait isn’t just that she’s old sounds like a wonderful addition as well. Thank you for the helpful review.
