Congratulations on BOTD. I appreciate your insights into the book's characters, particularly Jack Peniel, and how he evolves throughout the story. I also found your recommendation for a mature audience due to the frequent use of profanity and graphic violence helpful for potential readers.

I agree that the first few chapters make the reader aware of the character's history. Character development is clearly an important part of this book. Thank you for the review.

Good written review. The story is more relevant to US readers because of their knowledge of the historical background.

Westerns are always a good bet. This sounds like a great novel and if the character development is as good as it sounds I'd really love to read this one. Excellent review.

I have a deep appreciation for historical fiction novels that transport me back to the 18th and 19th centuries. They provide a window into the past and allow me to understand the challenges and triumphs of people who lived in a different era. I am fascinated by the portrayal of the social and cultural norms of that time, and the historical events that shaped the world as we know it today. These novels offer a rich and immersive experience that leaves me with a deeper appreciation for our shared history.

Bone Necklace looks like an exciting historical novel, featuring unique characters and based on a real-world setting. However, I am afraid the grotesque scenes and profanity might be a little much for my personal taste, as I am not very fond of war depictions in either books or films. Your review has been very helpful, and congratulations to today's BOTD!

Your review was beautifully engaging and provided a descriptive summary. The book describes America's final Indian war from the perspective of a Nez Perce warrior. The author has shared the story with emotions that will touch the reader. Jack's character seems to be someone trying to get things right and forever failing. However, as I am not a fan of historical fiction, I will skip this book. Congrats on the BOTD, though!

The novel is based on actual histororical events, namely the last American Indian war. The Nez Perce Indians won the war, against all odds. The tribe not only won the war, but also the grudging respect of America. It still serves as reference to modern day racism and journalistic bias.

I enjoy historical reads, where fictional characters are created yet base-lined with true events of our past and cultures. Bone Necklace, upon the first chapter I felt captivated with the description and placing of scenery. The writer's creative and captivating style took hold, leaving me wanting to know more. Therefore, your review beautifully expresses the description of what the book could hold. It leaves me curious about what is to be unveiled. I especially enjoy the conclusion of warning with profanity and recommendation; it is very helpful. Even with all said, the fact of profanity inclusion does not suit my personal taste, therefore I would skip this book. Congratulations on the BOTD!! :D
