This is an amazing review, Bertha, and I really appreciate your mention of sensitive content like animal sacrifices. I have sampled this book, and I did find a gory episode of the pirates killing Aspasia's father. Other than that, the book reads great and I liked how the author conveys the atmosphere.

Well done for this review. I am not really a fan of Greek mythology, but this seems like a book to read.

This book contains some information about the myths on some ancient Greek gods. I would particularly want to read about the war between the Athenians and the Spartans and who become the victor and the vanquished. The budding romance between Pericles and Aspasia would also be another interesting to read; could this romance stand the heat of the law of the land?

I devour anything ancient Greece, particularly Spartan and Athenian. The over-500 pages here will certainty not deter me. Plus, women in that era are routinely overlooked.

I'm not an avid lover of historical fictional books. I'll gladly pass this on to ardent readers of it because it will fascinate them more. Congratulations on the book of the day.

I commend Yvonne Korshak for the great job fine with researching and writing this book. It's not easy to write a 557 page book that will completely impress a reviewer. I might read this account about some ancient Greek mythology, given how the author presented the book in an impressive form.

I enjoy books that explore the mythology of the Gods and are set in ancient Greece. I've read a lot about Greek mythology, but I don't think I've ever read about Zeus giving birth to Athena within his skull. fantastic review
