I'm not an ardent lover of fictional stories. So, this book will be best suited for the people who love it. Nonetheless, I love how detailed and event-filled the story is. Congrats on BOTD.

Really sounds like a great story that can teach a valuable lesson in the power of togetherness. The gold rush was a time when people could turn on each other at the turn of a dime and this really brings to the fore how much companionship can be important. A very informative review, thanks.

An action-packed novel set during the gold rush in British Columbia, Canada. Friendship is one of the most palpable themes this story following the search for gold.

Congrats on BOTD. I guess this book is for those who are interested in an adventure during the 1800s Gold Rush.

A story centering on the period of the gold rush in the 1860s sounds interesting. I am curious to see if the protagonists succeed in finding gold and what trials and triumphs they have along the way. This story sounds wonderful so congratulations on BOTD.

Thank you, Jeremie, for a well-written and exciting review. The sample pages were well written, capturing different character traits. I was quite intrigued to read more about the gold-digging adventures of the five men. The author has creatively built a plot with a complex group of characters, and it will be intriguing to see how they interact in the story. Congrats on the BOTD!

The story centered on gold digging and wilderness adventure would fascinate the readers with its action-packed plot accompanying friendship, trust, thrill, and mystery.

Gold mining is not an easy business. And it's true that gold can unify and also separate or destroy relationships and friendships when there is greed. Congratulations on BOTD!

What a gem of a novel! Raymond Maher weaves history, excitement, and life lessons into The Second Five. The author's attention to detail, especially in describing the 1858 Fraser River Gold Rush, brings the past to life with an enthralling narrative.

This review really conveys the whole theme of the book that the author wanted to convey in his book. I learnt from this review that before finding real gold comes great bonding, trust and fellowship between the five men. Their journey of character building and gold-digging was indeed thrilling. I personally loved this review

I wonder if the book is more dialogue-based seeing as the focal point seems to be the five men with their quirky personalities and backgrounds, and the dynamic they will surely bring about through interaction especially as the story progresses. Have always been a sucker for character growth so it would definitely be interesting to see where they start off and how they are nearing the end of the novel. Added to the list!
