The author of this book seems to have narrated some of the aspects of her life and how circumstances compelled her to make some decisions that changed her life.

Thank you for your thoughtful review. Perhaps the mother was just too self-absorbed or careless to be able to be there for her daughter. I'm looking forward to seeing how Xandria overcomes the obstacles in her life.

Parenting is a role many of us take for granted. We need to understand that it takes training to be good in anything, including parenting. Sadly, many parents just go about it as they feel like. I believe that when we consciously start making efforts to get the right training as parents, we will do much better.

“The Journey of an American Woman” by Ashley Becker-Whipple is a book about the unpredictable nature of life. This is a detailed account of the author’s journey from childhood to adulthood. This story teaches many lessons about childhood and parenting and the bottom line is parents should do better. They should be aware of who their children are associating with or who they expose their children to as well as the people they let watch them. Parents need to listen to their children and not just assume when they act out it is just a tantrum. The way parents counsel and treat their children from a very young age has a tremendous impact in shaping the course of their lives. A well-written book that all parents could learn a great deal from and I recommend it. Very good review.

This book touches topics that I myself have firm believes in. Parents drastically have to realise what they do or don't do for a child will impact the child's life always. There is also no shame in taking advise from people that's on the outside of a situation. I truly hope that many parents will take the time to read this. Thanks for a wonderful review.

The reviewer has successfully drawn a picture of the book plot whilst keeping suspense about how the story works out. Review is showing all aspects of book. It's a really good example as the reviewer has commented on every level like book, author, storyline, characters and how they are portrayed.
All in all, as per my opinion, a good review can tell you about the story in first paragraph only meanwhile forcing you to read the next line without losing attention. Just like that, this was a great review.

I am fascinated by the detailed account of the author's life "journey" from childhood to adulthood. I am intrigued by the fact that Xandria is a victim of circumstances that are outrightly beyond her control. I am interested in learning about the author's growth from a place of feeling lost and alone to a place of rediscovery of one's self and thundering on the path to happiness.

This book sounds appealing to me, especially the fact that the reviewer highlighted the aspects of motherhood and the impact we have on our children. I like how the book starts with the encouragement the author received from others to write it. It foretells the enlightened journey that the author had to tread as well as the inspiration that can be achieved through it. I look forward to completing this interesting read.
