What an interesting time to pick and a neat story that incorporates Marilyn Monroe. I’ve never thought about reading this book, but I’ll check out the sample.

I hardly read historical fiction pieces but this book appears so fascinating and well written that I imagine to pass it up would mean missing out on a great story. Fantastic review!

That's quite a long story. I hope the writing is exceptional as you painted it to be. Nice review.

I have read several books recently based on historical fiction and they have all pleasantly surprised me! This book is no different as it reflects the good fortune of a less-than-perfect character to meet and become immersed in the culture of a major sex symbol of the time.

This book hints at Marilyn Monroe's possible human faults, such as eating three custard tarts or confiding in Penny, the main character of the book, that she needed to do a better job of the people she keeps around her.

Though I have only read a sample of this book, I feel that it is well written and touching, in a light-hearted kind of way.

Usually when a well-known, real-life figure is used in a book, it is expected that they'll be the central character. This isn't the case here as Marilyn Monroe takes a back seat to Penny's character, which is unique in my opinion.

I know Marilyn and Penny's relationship should be the highlight of the book, but I'm more interested in Penny and Frankie's relationship given their similar life experiences. Sounds like a nice work of fiction.

I find this plot very interesting. Thinking that the lead character is a plus-sized Penny reminds me of a movie whose lead was a plus-size lady. It has romance in it too. Congrats on BOTD!

I've always been intrigued Marilyn Monroe's story, but I think it'd be interesting to read about the people who existed in her circle. Is Penny depicting a real person in Monroe's life? Nonetheless, I would love to check it out! Thanks for the review.

A historical fiction story with a touch of romance sounds gripping and interesting. I like that the writing style is simple and easy-to-understand, and that the characters are well-developed. I might consider the book.

For a second I thought this novel was another story about Marilyn Monroe but I was delighted to be proven wrong. I would love to heard how her life changed somebody else's life.
