I like how this book focuses on the struggles, trials, and tribulations of what was supposed to be the "War to End All Wars" but turned out into the first in a series of World Wars. Historical fictions give a good glimpse of what life was like during a particular section of history and this book doesn't look like an exception. I will definitely have to add this book to my reading list.

Hey. Great review here. You have summarized the book well and also pointed out the one flow you noted. Thanks a lot for this review. I love reading stories about the two World Wars and especially how they affected ordinary people. I will have to read this.

Daffodils by Alex Martin seems to be a book that is filled with so much emotions. Books that speaks about world wars are my cup of coffee and I must read them. Nice review.

Daffodils by Alex Martin is a #HistoricalFiction set in #WorldWarI. It revolves around Katy, a domestic servant whose life is changed both by a love affair with Jem and Jem's sudden departure for the brutal battlefields. "A profound meditation on love and loss and the perils of war."

Thanks for the review.

The first part of the review really hooked me. I say to myself, "I love wars. Gonna try this one." But as I finished the review, I realized this is one dramatic novel. Not my thing.

The cover caught my eye before I even read your review. Your review weaves a story of emotions and realizations of war. I'm saddened that there are so many grammatical and spelling errors; I think it deserves better editing than it received. Congratulations to the author for being today's BOTD.

I like it when you can feel emotion experienced by a character, just by the words an author uses. War ravages lives mercilessly and its effects last beyond a lifetime. Katy's story gives us insight into WWI and the effect it had on lives after.

I am very excited to read this book. I think this review gave a bit too much away, but I still want to read the book. I hope to find out that Katy did not marry I am out of pity. Or that, if she did, she is committed to her life with him and doesn't spend all her time wanting different adventures as she did in the beginning few chapters.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. I found Katy’s innocence and Charles’s playful arrogance to be fitting to the era. From the sample pages, it appears the characters are well formed and the pages flowed beautifully.

This sounds like an emotional rollercoaster ride. Your review about the book is moving that I think the book influenced it. I'm not usually one for this kind of theme and topic but I guess this is a must-read. Thanks for your review!

Daffodils by Alex Martin is historical fiction. World War 1 has a lot of sad stories. This one is about distance. War causes a lot of people to suffer. We are becoming more and more violent with time. We should think about peace and try to stop fighting.
