I like that all the characters were endowed with defining traits that made them individually distinguishable despite being so numerous in the book. I also appreciate how extensively the author made his research in order to adequately capture all the historical backgrounds portrayed in his book. I'll add this to my shelf. Thanks for the review.

Historical fiction is a great way to learn history and I knew nothing about China after WW2. The sample was excellent as well. I was intrigued just by the maps at the start of the book. I had no idea some European countries and America had a presence in China after the war. The review wonderful.

While this seems like a lot of hard work and passion went into creating something with such careful historical realism, I can't say I'm interested in pieces such as this. I'll be passing on the BoTD this time around.

Thank you for reading and write your review, in any case!

An attraction I like with Greg Kater’s novels is the various cultural references he includes in his plot. This one with references to the Philipine Visayan folk-dance promises to be an engaging read. Thanks for the nice review.

I love Greg's books. And I knew he had been going to China for this novel, I can't believe it's already here! Good thing to know that the characters and the writing style is still the same with few good improvements. Thanks for this review!

It's great that the book encompasses different cultures and has well-researched details regarding the history and geography of different regions. I think Greg Kater's Conflict on the Yangtze would appeal to fans of action thrillers.
