The premise of this book is interesting and quite unique. Two Faces of Janus by Liners Tanner is an ancient historical fiction short story. The story is set in ancient Rome. In this book, Lullus betrays the emperor's trust by opening committing adultery with his daughter, Julia.

The combination of the title and the cover art is intriguing because it makes the readers wonder if the "two faces" of Janus are in a literal or a figurative sense. Maybe both? It must be interesting to learn how the two-faced god of beginnings would affect the plans of Lucius. Congratulations to the author for BOTD!

The story sounds interesting, and it seems to be interwoven with a couple of plot twists and conspiracy. I fancy exploring what the political system was like in ancient times, but I find following the tale in a movie to be more appealing. I'll still give the book a try regardless. Congrats on the BOTD.

This book tells about Roman politics. A young man named Lucius is vying for the position of a praetor in the state. But his chance seems to be slim because of his controversial family history. This seems like an interesting historical fiction for fans of Roman history and politics.

Unless I am mistaken, the author is a woman. Anyway, I am bound to enjoy this one simply because of the setting, ancient Rome. That’s a subject I love. I’m a little worried that the book may be too short for that topic, though. We’ll see.

The title is captivating. I live short stories and I like how it had an open ending.

The story is set in ancient Rome. It explored the themes of love and politics. Lucius, a young, ambitious man who wants to get ahead politically in the state, needed the sponsorship of Emperor Augustus Caeser to serve as praetor in the Roman justice system.

A story set in ancient Rome is just what I need right now. The story seems to have the typical royal conflicts, but I'd still love to read it. Thank you for the review!

Although a fictional book; the story also happens in real life. I love it because it is suspense filled; it would make the reader glued to the pages till its end.
