I like the vibe that the premise give off. Seems mysterious and the book cover encapsulated that pretty well

The mysterious disappearance of every owner of the tarven was enticing enough. I am looking forward to reading this book. Well written review.

The disappearance of the owners of the tavern piqued my interest. I wonder if they're connected to the gang wars in Chicago, or that if a gypsy healer knows about this mystery. The two sisters in the story seem to have different paths but somewhat related to the main event that took place in that era. Congratulations on the BOTD.

The name of the book was the first green flag for me, then the description was the final straw. I'm definitely going to give it a try. Congrats BOTD.

I read a few chapters and I enjoyed how the writer took her time to portray the characters. I also love the fact that the story has some exciting titles: bootleggers, prohibition, gypsy, tavern, Polish-American, missing person mystery. I can't wait to finish the book. Thanks for the review😊

I feel like this book is familiar. I probably saw this on Amazon while looking for books to read. Anyway, I honestly am so sick of reading family drama but the mystery genre has caught my attention. It looks so rich and captivating. Will add this to my list. Thanks

A very intriguing book and it's a mistique of the disappearance around the tavern, Gangsters and banks – were the big topics, well, the only topics. October’s stock market hullabaloo had cast a big, black shadow over the entire city – hell, the whole country, it seemed. And no one knew just how bad this crash, as they called it, was going to be for ordinary folks – and the ones who were already dirt poor, like the immigrants living in Hegeswich. Things couldn’t get much worse than they already were, Stach argued. :techie-studyinggray:

Halina sounds like a very charming and well-written character. The other characters, including the minor ones, also seem interesting.
