This is a historical fiction. Sir Anthony is hired to solve the serial murders. As he tracks the vicious killer, he discovers that some of the religious leaders involved with ignoble intentions. When this it is natural to begin to question one's faith and everything one was taught. Intriguing book and a good book review. Congratulations on the BOTD!

It will be my pleasure to discover what happens between the serial killer and Sir Anthony. I admire how the illustration of the book's cover was explained in your review.

Religious and political leaders are not just unscrupulous, hypocritical, and power-hungry back then. They still are even now. Anyway, with what is happening in our country, this is very relevant, theme-wise. Although I am pretty much tired of politics, I think I will enjoy this. Thanks

I have no doubt this book will be engrossing. It's got all the recipes for a historical blockbuster—papacy, murder of priests, medieval times, Galileo, mysteries, and investigation.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. I’m very selective when it comes to historical fiction, but if judged by your review, this thriller definitely makes the cut.

Faith is a broad word. It means different thing to different people and when one's faith is being compromised or when a situation arises to make one question his/her faith, it can be very difficult to install that faith again.
I am curious to know what shook the investigator's faith and how he recovered from it. Thanks for the detailed review.

This historical fiction novel is set in the 1600s and features a serial killer who targets priests. The author dissects religious doctrine and questions some Catholic beliefs and practices. However, religious readers shouldn't shy away from the book because it's thought-provoking and entertaining.

I'm not an avid lover of historical fiction books, hence, I didnt connect to the subject well. However, I found the investigative part of it to be intriguing because I love investigative stories. Readers of fictional books would find it fascinating. Congrats on BOTD.

I enjoy reading historical novels but in a period different from this one. The themes on religion and moral corruption are apparent in the story. Since I haven't read the first part of the series, I'll have to skip this book for now. Congratulations on the BOTD.

I love the character of Anthony already but I'm also excited for Cardinal Aldobrandini, Francesca and Maria who sound like some very unique characters.
