This is a historical book dealing with the cultural aspects of Indian society. Seems good but I'll pass on it for now. Thanks for the review.

This sounds like an excellent book. I love the idea of two people forming a friendship from two different backgrounds. I am excited to read this book and see how their journeys intertwine, especially since the review mentioned that each character took a form of military leadership in their community, and these communities may be at odds with each other. Thanks for the recommendation!

Historical fictions are amazing as they give a dose of history along with an interesting story. I liked how well-researched this book is. The author has portrayed the emotions of the people well and given his readers a good sense of time and place. A well written review!

This historical fiction beautifully tries to reinvent the lost languages and culture of the natives of America.

This is the first historical fiction book that I have read set in that time period and I found it interesting. I especially liked the parts involving Indian culture.

Historical fiction is not my favorite genre, so I will be skipping this book. However, I love that the author provides factual stories in this fictional tale to demonstrate to readers how tough things were between the Indians and those who were a part of the gold rush. Thanks for the review!

Well done. To the reviewer , he has shown drawings and illustrations which has convicing explanation in, that's something I look for with historical fiction books heavy on the eyes! Thanks

I believe it's crucial to be well-versed in all aspects of American history, and this book specifically discusses Indian and pioneer cultures. I believe it was unusual for a Lakota warrior to make a white man his friend, therefore I'm curious to know how this came about. Congrats on botd!

I like the accuracy of the history in this novel as to me, that's one reason a person is reading historical fiction. I very interested to see how and if the two boys can keep their friendship in adulthood. Seems like one exceptional novel and I can't wait to read it. Thanks for a detailed review.
