I'm not really into historical fiction or wrestling, so I may not be able to appreciate this book fully. It does sound like it'll be a good read for the right audience.

I take my hat off to the writers who are able to create an entire world based off fiction through the eyes of the page. I also really enjoy historical reads that give one the insight to the past yet with a creative twist. Thanks so much for your lovely review, it gives me enough information to take the dive into the read.

It's great to see how well the book was written, and that the chapters all flowed nicely. However, wrestling books would not be my first choice of book. I really enjoyed reading your review. Congrats to the author on BOTD!

Professional wrestling is a sport I know little about. It has never sounded very appealing to me. I hope this book reaches the right audience and is appreciated by them. Congrats on the BOTD!

The fact that this story is so well- written that it can pass off an an autobiography instead of fiction truly amazes me! Although I am not a fan of wrestling, I can imagine this making for a wonderful story!

The story was intriguing, I love to read this kind of book. I can see myself in the story of "Squirt Malone" on how brave he is leaving he's family to pursue he's ambition.

On the other hand , it was mentioned that there are errors about the punctuation marks but it didn't affect the boldness of the story, I love to read more

The Early Years of 'Squirt' Malone by Richard W. Kelly is a work of fiction. This work needs to be applauded, therefore it kept me preoccupied the whole time. The protagonist of the book who is now old reminiscences his childhood days. A young boy who was inspired by Andrew "the farmer" Slate, proceeds on a journey alone to become a professional wrestler.
I never imagined that a genre like wrestling would keep me hooked throughout. It is really an interesting book.

I appreciate for such a good review!
Even if it seemed to be an autobiography in the sample, the review has changed my perception and it may seem to be an interesting historical fiction. Glad to hear that the writting is flawless and fluid. But I might skip as wrestling is not my area of interest.

Each chapter was valuable and related well to the others. None of them felt unnecessary or out of place. Nice book, congratulations on BOTD!

Wrestling is an exciting game. I wonder why, at such a young age, John leaves his family for the sake of wrestling. Though I cannot relate to wrestling and how the carnival may affect some people, I admire how things work in this novel. Thanks for the review.

I am fascinated by how twelve-year-old John plans to survive after he ran away from home to pursue his dream of becoming a professional wrestler. Congratulations to the author for BOTD!

I love that this book is of the historical fiction genre. I'm excited to get myself a copy of this book because of the great rating and review. I am a fan of wrestling and I like that the story touches on it during that time period. Congrats on making botd!

I'm not an avid lover of wrestling stories. However, I was fascinated with this one because of how engaging and inspiring it is. John must have worked hard to have reached the peak of his wrestling career. Congrats on BOTD.
