This seems like an interesting historical novel around gold mining. It would be interesting to follow the 5 men's journey. This is not my usual type of book, but I appreciated reading your thorough review. Congrats to the author on BOTD 😊

The Second Five Raymond Maher is an action-filled novel that talks a great deal about mining. It also teaches a great lesson on trust, friendship, and fellowship and focuses on the gold rush in British Columbia, Canada.

One thing that stand out about this book for me is the character development. I love the unique names they all bear. I would like to know whether the bond between them will remain steadfast.

I have sampled this book, and I agree with Jeremie that it is a masterpiece that deserves 5 stars. My only reservation about reading this book is Jeremie's mention of hunting animals for food.

I'm sure the pun is intended with your 'it has valuable lessons that are worth more than gold' statement. Anyway, I've always been curious about the gold-rush and, although this is fiction, I'm encouraged by your mention of its historical content.

This is a historical fiction about how five men work together in searching for gold in the Fraser River. I like how this book is an action-filled adventure and a stand-alone book. Nice review.

Trust is one vehicle that can drive any relationship to success which means any relationship lacking it will crash. What we call friendship is togetherness and trust between the parties.

"The Second Five" by Raymon Maher is a sequel to "The Deadly Five" about a group of miners panning and mining for gold in the Frazier River in British Columbia, Canada during the 1860s. Nothing Brown, Mean Mike, Henry the singer, Jacque, CF, and Frenchy are likely to be typical gold miner names. These miners, like hundreds of others, are trying to make quick money by mining for gold. This is an action-packed adventure novel set in the Canadian bush. Very well written and reviewed.

This seems to be quite an engaging, insightful, and informative book. Gold rush books are one of my favourites. So I'll give this book a try myself to learn more about the events that happened then. Congrats on getting the BOTD. It is truly well deserved.

I don't have too much to say about this book. The reviewer has enjoyed it but I am not so interested in the plot. All the same congratulations on being the Book of the Day.
