What an excellent idea it was to use real life events to create a historical fiction. Lentz pulled it off well and I'd like to read this. Beautiful review you've got here.

Thanks for your review. It seems this book recapped part of Marilyn Monroe's life, told through the eyes of her friend, and showed us how people close to her would think about her.

Although I am not one to choose historical fiction to read, the sample instantly grabbed and held my attention. The character's are believed and likeable, especially Penny. The author truly has a way with words, and I am sure this book as something for everyone. Thanks for the great review!

Historical fiction and romance with masterfully developed characters seems like a perfect combo for me.

Your review is interesting, when one has to find happiness again after a long period of sadness, you are surprised that there are encounters that could change your life once again.

I'm interested in who Marilyn Monroe was. I hear so much but I don't really know anything.

:P I don't know a whole lot about Marilyn Monroe, so this book sounds quite interesting. I also love the fact that it's from Penny's perspective while she worked with Marilyn. Thanks for the great review. Sounds like a good book.

It looks like there are three main characters here: Penny, Marilyn, and The Del. I like that the author votes "no" to body-shaming, but anyone who sits beside THE Marilyn Monroe would feel insecure!

It is interesting that the book is a double historical fiction. The story happens in 1958 and the film being shot was set in the 1920s when swimwear was made of wool!

Your review is excellent, thank you. Historical fictions have become my thing. In many cases, however, they usually involve wars. My Friend Marilyn is a welcome change. Congrats on being the BOTD.

When I first saw the title, I wondered if the book would have anything to with Marilyn Monroe. Turns out it does, but in an unexpected way.

Sounds like a promising book even though it's a long book. I like that the real facts are mixed with the historical fiction in this book.

After reading the title, I also thought the book would be centered on Marilyn Monroe but it seems like it took a sweet turn and I would be delighted to add it to my shelve... nice review
