The title is very pertinent. I do not much like reading memoirs, but this one seems interesting, especially because it discusses Nazi occupation of a town and following horrors. I would love to read this book.

I normally dislike stories about war due to the many violence and heartbreak. But it appears that this story is thoroughly researched by the author and since it is based on a true story, I feel that I should read and learn more about the history. To be honest, I do not remember much detail about WWII, having forgotten much of what I have learnt in school. I also had to search about the names of the places mentioned in this book to better understand the context. But I think I will give this book a go, since the storyline captivates my interest and I tend to remember narratives better as compared to reading plain facts from the textbook. This book is certainly out of the type of books I would read, but I am glad that this review and the book sample has made me interested in finding out more.

Wow nice review
The only thing I did not enjoy was how perfect the lead character, Janneke, seemed to be initially. She is a strong-willed, confident, and quick-thinking woman who is far different in character to the meek women of her time. Initially, she got far too much praise for my liking.

A historical fiction based on true events from the Nazis time sounds like an informative piece of work. To me, history comes with a myriad of valuable lessons. Wonderful review! Thank you!

Wow such a wonderful write-up, it really reveals a great sense of maturity in Janneke , but she proves to be too intelligent, smart and thoughtful than her own parents, at least a good suggestion from any of her parents could make us realize she took after one of them, please "Alyce Bailey" should recheck on that but in general, it's an awesome review. Keep it up.

Poignantly writing about Nazi war crimes and the perceived Dutch resistance would take somewhat of an emotional toll on any author, let alone one who interviewed and spoke to many of the survivors firsthand. The inclusion of applicable photographs would no doubt lend an added sympathetic quality as well. Thank you so much for this review!

I am not fond of historical books however what happened during the Nazi regime is a very interesting topic to know about.

Thank you for the review. You definitely encouraged me to read the book.

Historical fiction is one of my favourite genres, and this book's description got my curiosity piqued. I had never read of Putten during the Nazi era and I'm glad the author did a great job in putting together the story. Thank you for a concise review. Great job!

This sounds like a great read. I was somewhat confused when the review referred to events in 1994 (I'm sure it's just a typo and should be 1944). That aside, I think the review gives a very good feel for what the book is all about. It sounds like a rare treat to come across a book with no typos!

Great review. Stories like this tell us about the history and what went wrong in the past. So we don't repeat the mistakes again. I would love to read this book.

I enjoy reading historical fiction and even more when it's related with WWII. Definitely adding this one to my list.

Official Review: The Weeping Woman of Putten by Alyce Bailey is an authentic information related to the horrors of Nazi regime during the Second World War! The information of the author given in the review is enlightening for readers! I like the idea of a fiction tale based on the Nazi war crime against the town of Putten, Netherlands!

Kudos to the author for taking the time to do research before writing this book. I love the fuse of history and fiction, especially when the story is properly researched.
