Nell's story is quite an emotional one. Being forced to start adulthood at the age of eleven must have been very tough on her. I hope the story ended with her finding happeness. I love how detailed this review is. Congrats on BOTD.

Neil sounds like a little girl that was allowed to grow up so fast by life circumstances, she really went through a lot. Congratulations on a good book of the day.

In many cases it's usual to see women raising a children's alone, but for a man to raise a child it's unusual especially a girl child. This is about Nell's story who lost her mother and her baby brother at age of eleven yes, it was west painfull thing to her to loose a parent at that age especially a mother.
