This historical fiction can indeed teach others of history in an interesting manner. One always needs to know and understand their culture and history as they are the back bones of our society.

I like reading about history and the Indian culture is quite interesting to read about. This seems like a book I would enjoy learning from. Congratulations on the book of the day.

Your review is great but I don't fancy historical fiction. It dulls my spirit. Congratulations to the author on winning BOTD.

"These Sacred Lands" by James Harold Kelly is a novel set in the American West. This is the second book in the I am a Soldier series and it focuses on the Sioux War fought in the late 1800s. Joshua Mackenzie arrived in Fort Laramie with his parents and siblings by stagecoach. Joshua befriends a Lakota Indian boy his age and he decides that he wants to learn the Lakota language. One needs to read the book to learn if this friendship will last during these turbulent times of Indian wars. This is a very historically accurate novel that describes the ongoing conflicts and battles between the Indians and the U.S. Army. The senseless waste of life that occurred in the American West during these wars is difficult to understand and unfortunately the American Indians have been treated as second class citizens for more than 140 years. I am adding this book to my Want to Read Shelf. Very good review.

I’ve always enjoyed reading historical novels. It’s reading about the events and happenings we were not able to witness. I love your review!

This is a historical fiction. James Harold Kelly seems to have done his research in history of 1800s and creatively written his fiction. Your review is equally good. Congratulations on the BOTD!

Before reading this review, I wasn't aware of the Great Sioux War; our planet's rich history never stops to amaze me. I would definitely love to pick up this book to learn more about this war.

I've watched several movies and read several books about the American West in the 1800s. This book definitely falls within my genre. I hope Joshua Tremaine Mackenzie's friendship with the boy lasted despite the war.
Insofar as the word 'should' even has meaning, then we must say that the past is exactly as it should be, everything that happened should have happened, and everything that should happen will happen

These Sacred Lands by James Harold Kelly sounds like an amazing historical fiction book. One thing that's triggering me to read this book is to find out if the friendship between Joshua Tremaine Mackenzie and the young Lakota boy survived in the tumultuous times of Indian wars and battles for territory in a burgeoning new nation. Congratulations on the BOTD.

Although the plot is unique, cultural fiction is not really my cup of tea..hence, I'll have to pass on this one. But congratulations on being listed as Book Of The Day.
